Death Valley - BBC

We are delighted to have built the bespoke TV sets for BBC’s upcoming comedy drama Death Valley (w/t), a murder mystery featuring BAFTA-winning Timothy Spall (The Sixth Commandment, Mr Turner) and Gwyneth Keyworth (Alex Rider, Hidden, Defending the Guilty). Written and created by BAFTA-nominated Paul Doolan, this new series is produced by BBC Studios Comedy Productions for BBC Two, BBC One Wales, and iPlayer.

Death Valley follows an eccentric retired actor and national treasure, famous for playing a fictional TV detective, who finds himself teaming up with a resourceful Welsh detective sergeant after a local murder draws them together. Our company is proud to have contributed to the production’s sense of place by designing and constructing carefully crafted sets that reflect the show’s unique blend of humor, suspense, and warm Welsh charm. We worked closely with the creative team to ensure every detail—from cozy interiors to atmospheric exteriors—supports the offbeat crime-solving adventures at the heart of the story.

We are delighted to have designed and constructed the bespoke sets for Dope Girls, a major new six-part BBC drama produced by Bad Wolf (His Dark Materials, Industry, I Hate Suzie, Doctor Who, A Discovery of Witches) in association with Sony Pictures Television. Inspired by a little-known period in history, the series transports viewers to the vibrant yet turbulent Soho streets of 1918, when the end of the First World War brought a mix of celebration, social upheaval, and a daring new wave of nightlife.

Every element, from the decadent interiors of illicit venues to the atmospheric city streets, was meticulously crafted to enhance the sense of excitement and danger that runs throughout the story.

Under the creative guidance of multi-award-winning writer Polly Stenham and Alex Warren, along with lead director Shannon Murphy, Dope Girls charts the journey of a single mother (Julianne Nicholson) who opens a nightclub to support her daughter (Eilidh Fisher), while a pioneering female officer (Eliza Scanlen) ventures undercover into this hidden world. The show features a diverse ensemble cast that includes Umi Myers, Michael Duke, Ian Bonar, Dustin Demri-Burns, Geraldine James, Nabhaan Rizwan, Priya Kansara, Jordan Kouamé, Will Keen, and Sebastian Croft.
